YT Downloader for XP ?

Guys,
For quite a few years I have been using YouTube Downloader for XP, and today it just stopped working. I keep getting errors when I try to download anything. It was working just two days ago.
That being said, is anyone else using this program, and is it working on your XP system ?
Could anyone recommend a downloader for XP, if I can't get this working again ? (I also e-mailed the programmer of said downloader about the problem)
Much obliged for any help and/or info !

The latest 32 bit version of 3D Youtube downloader works with XP.

Good Link ClippyBeer. Downloaded and tested this on Windows 10 64bit and Windows XP 32bit

You have the option of installing in a portable version on install.
And thank you for the extra info! So I can download this to my computer drive, and use it like the previous downloader? No ads, or malware on the download? I do prefer a standalone version, as opposed to a version that's connected only to the browser. Thanks!

Yes, it is a direct downloader. I have tried it on the operating systems I have mentioned above. It does not matter which browser you use. It does not download through the browser. It works from the web address you paste in. You then specify what resolution. (Check what res the video is in. no point in downloading over original res of video.)

You paste the web address, specify res, direct to download to where you want it downloaded to. It takes a few seconds to grab all the streams then will download.

I had no problem downloading any video.

However, it will of course not download the premium movies that you may have purchased through YouTube. When I do that, I am forced to use OBS Studio 64bit and a complete screen grab for the full length of the movie.

I personally only purchase YouTube movies that are really hard to buy or difficult to source by any other means. Typically French language films, my actual first language.

Sounds great! Thank you again! One more question, does it convert the audio also in one download, or is it just a downloader and then you have to have an audio converter?

I prefer to not use software to download from Youtube. Many times they come with spyware. I remember when I was still fixing computers as a hobby that many people would use Atubecatcher. It would always come with spyware. I just use whatever website that lets download from Youtube. I have been using this site lately:

I think it's safer that way. Considering that there not many options for antispyware or antivirus for XP these days. Eset would catch all the spyware that was bundled with other software. But it's not available anymore.

Yes, you can just download audio. Under settings and convert mode. There seems to loads of options. I suggest you do some experimenting. So far seems to be the best downloader I have ever used.

The software contains no virus or spyware. I have done a full security analysis of ports it opens on a number of Enterprise level hardware firewalls I use.

Below is an analysis of IP addresses and ports it goes to when downloading

Port 443 is the standard port for HTTPS, the secure version of HTTP. HTTPS is used by websites and other online services to protect your data from being intercepted by eavesdroppers. Imagine port 443 as a secure tunnel between your web browser and a website.

I use specialized DNS ports, so I haven’t bothered with those in this. But you will probably find You get a Port 53 request too. Nothing to worry about.

Port 53 The standard port for DNS is port 53. DNS client applications use the DNS protocol to query and request information from DNS servers, and the server returns the results to the client using the same port. Port 53 is used for both TCP and UDP communication.

All this is standard.

Note: I have a very secure system designed by Mr Siamese Cat. So you might find you go to more ports if you bother doing a security analysis, but that is not the downloader software it will be your system.

(I have of course removed my Network side info for security reasons)

Thank you so much for the extra info ! What is the difference between the 'regular' exe download file and the portable version ? I'm not sure which one to download ?

I've been using 3D Youtube downloader for years on all my Windows PCs. No ads/spyware/malware of any kind. I keep the portable version on my utility flash drive where I keep all my portable apps. The author updates it regularly (the latest version was updated May 2024) which is refreshing considering most XP software don't get updated anymore.

It only occupies 53 MB installed. I wish we had more XP apps like this.

I've learned not to rely on video downloader websites as they often disappear (DMCA).

And thank you Clippy, for all the info as well! I'd be lost without a YouTube downloader.

I had been using online websites for this purpose, but they always say they allow 1080p, but never actually do.

This little program works, doesn't set off any alarms for firewall defense except for the outgoing connections once you've initiated it. No calls home that I'm seeing.

I think this will be quite handy for downloading episodes from Clash of Minds ;)

Thank you, Madeleine, for your help and experimentaion on the recommended downloader. Much obliged. Your information was very helpful.

The downloader does not seem to work anymore. I get an error on every video I try to download from YT, even ones I have already downloaded weeks ago. Is it working for you ?

Don’t worry it’s not the 3D YouTube program. I have the same problem, so does everyone else. It is YouTube who have made it even more difficult to download.

I suggest saving the link and maybe the developers may be able to find a solution. I have also checked on one website I use and that no longer works either. VLC Media Player also cannot download (Yes I do use all the fixes).

The other website I use is extremely dangerous, but still works.

Follow instructions carefully unless you feel like reinstalling your entire system. Everything is dangerous.

https://deturl.com/

Paste Link.

Press download video
Choose 9xbuddy
Wait till screen loads
Check what you have – choose least dangerous and best fit Screen shot below.

You will get loads of pop ups and you only close them by clicking the X in the top right corner to close the window.

If you or anyone needs to ask any questions to use this website. Then do not use it, you really need to understand scam links, dangerous links and have a really good understand of all trips and pitfalls of using the web.

The only guaranteed way of downloading everything at present is OBS Studio. You basically record your entire screen. But you must set Video Encoder to software not your graphics card (Hardware). You can absolutely forget using it on XP. I have to use Dual CPU 40 Core Xeons and 128gb ram windows 10 on water-cooled system. You must also set your browser to software mode. This as most people will point out is just video editing – you need a very fast system.

Finally - just save the link ClippyBeer has provided and keep an eye out for them updating. If they can.
