Howto: Firefox MP4 for XP and multi profiles

Does the logo really matter? :)
The black moon was horrible, it was an eye sore for me. There is one thing I have noticed, videos are a little more skippy, this could be because I was using firefox 25 before which is light and fast. The other thing that sucked was when I changed to 28 the profile disappeared, I was able to restore this by mixing the pale moon folders but others might have problems losing their bookmarks.

When I installed 28, I had fortunately copied my profile to my desktop so I was able to replace the files I needed for logins and bookmarks. :)

If you want the whole thing back including settings and add-ons, move the pale moon folder contents to the new mypal folder and edit the ini file to the new name of profile folder.

One thing I'm trying to change is getting the download dialog to pop up. When I enter a link in the location to download a MP4, it will play it in the browser instead of downloading it. It would be nice if it popped up the save as dialog.

hmm, I tried every thing listed under preferences/application, I can right click while the video is playing and save it to desktop, but that is an extra step.

you might have to ask at github, create an issue and it can be looked into

https://github.com/Feodor2/Mypal/issues

I had an issue with yahoo email and it was fixed right away :):)

that is what I do as well but I'm trying to avoid it because usually if I want to save a video I'm already playing it and like it, so it starts playing twice with double audio. I think this can be fixed in about:config but its too small of an issue for me to research right now. maybe fedoro will return to this post and offer advice.

MyPal running on BBQ Linux which I believe is a arch variant. Looks pretty nice to me and its faster than firefox, only problem again is bitchute doesn't play, youtube does.
