viaagp1.sys is causing my computer to go into power save mode

ok, now I need you to go to msinfo32/components/display and give me an image of that page please.

also I noticed that you are using the admin account as your normal account, you should create another computer administrator account and use that for your daily work, the built in admin account is a failsafe.

also you mentioned it might be a hp compaq, with hp there is a patch to install BEFORE installing sp3.

i think its unbranded

I don't think NVidia would give their chip to a company with no name. just pull the card and see if it's a VIA or MSI .. it should be in the part number or the color of the board says a lot. since you're stuck and it's AGP you can't just pickup another one so you might as well pull it and inspect as much as possible

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/winxp-2k-9371/

according to the pci lookup's ven and dev, (10DE and 3022) the device driver is above, dated 2006, which according to HERE, should not be updated further.
thats what i installed, it worked but like now its not

i bought a fx5700le off ebay, with it being double the speed as the fx5200, and its by EVGA (more trusted) i hope this works/turns out better, if this dont work, then its definitely a different issue, should come by saturday as long as the weather permits

you do realize that on a fresh install, there is a certain order to install drivers and the very first one should be the chipset, :)

Jaton is the lowest of the low. I would have bought a used PCIE motherboard off craigslist instead.
it was in my drawer, from an old build i "destroyed"
i just bought a evga fx5700le

so if this doesnt work it might be a mobo / driver issue, fingers crossed
