Startup problem

Hi all
Every time my computer starts up, it gives me a message 'found new hardware' when there is no new hardware. How do i get it to stop giving me this silly message?

"The MSDN article [Preventing Plug and Play" explains that when a PnP device is plugged into a Windows XP Embedded system, if the driver exists on the computer, the device is installed immediately. If the driver does not exist on the system, or if the driver package is not digitally signed, the Found New Hardware Wizard appears to prompt the user for the driver and to assist in the installation. The article also explains that a registry value can be set to prevent the wizard appearing but whether it will work in your situation is left to be explained.

above from here

============

go to start/run/type in msconfig, look at the startup tab, is there anything there that you do not know what it is??

in device manager, look for hidden devices or unknown, any unknown devices, open properties and choose to NOT use this device.

==============

also ensure that your system is clean, run a full scan on your antivirus

and run full scan with malwarebytes free, run until it has found nothing. rebooting as necessary.
