Since updating to the latest version, this browser is giving me trouble. It appears too big for my screen, so that the upper bar (file, edit, view, red 'x', etc.) is cut off. Everytime I have to try to grab it with the mouse pointer, and drag it down. I tried downgrading it back to 28.9.3, but apparently the problem has been imported to that one now. Any ideas?

Now Centaury is screwed-up as well. When I cut and paste URLs into its address bar, nothing happens for 'paste and go', hit enter, etc. I don't know if updating Mypal was the cause of this too, but given my experience with updates, it wouldn't surprise me.

you can uninstall all instances of the troubled browser and reinstall, this should clear up problems or go to View, choose Zoom and then choose zoom out.

I have MyPal 28.10.0 installed in my Windows XP Professional SP3 32-bit computer, and it runs fine.

You didn't say what size monitor/screen your computer has, and what resolution it's set on.

Yeah I already twice uninstalled and reinstalled both without change. Tried installing the previous version of Mypal too, without change. Last time I used both IObit and Comodo Programs Manager to uninstall, and went through 'My Computer' to have Bleachbit 'shred' the remnants, without change. Never should of done that update...both Mypal and Centaury was working more or less. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Mypal 28.10.0 brought nothing to the table, and I'd bet is the cause of both browsers going down.

I guess I have a 15" monitor. No idea the resolution. Same monitor and resolution as before. Absolutely nothing changed but the Mypal upgrade, which is why I'm pretty sure it is the culprit. I've jettisoned both Mypal and Centaury. I may try to fool with them again, or just leave it to the computer tech housecall in two weeks. I definitely do like like being dependent on crappy Firefox til then. No more updates....period!

By the way I found Basilisk in exe form:
    http://archive.palemoon.org/basilisk/
but it still does not install for me! Crappy Firefox hangs it at 1 second before it installs, or when I click it to install.

The 'view' only affects what is within the browser window, not the size of the window itself. In other words,it has no effect on the file/edit/view/red 'x' toolbar. It only magnifies or shrinks what is below the toolbar in the viewing area.

Anyway, I reinstalled Mypal 28.10.0. It appeared like half the size of my screen this time, instead of overfilling my screen. I grabbed the lower right corner with the cursor, and pulled down it to fit my screen. I then did a restart to see if it would last. So far it has. The proof of the pudding will be tomorrow, after I have turned off the PC for the night. For now the Mypal problem seems to be 'fixed'.

Anyone know how to fix Centaury? If not, I will leave it uninstalled til my computer tech gets here.

Also, anyone know why Basilisk exe
    http://archive.palemoon.org/basilisk/
will not install? I've never had any problem with an exe before, only the zip junk.

    I saw this today :

    https://github.com/Feodor2/mypal

    "Things are changing.

I heve been meanly removed from the mypal development.

No new versions of mypal will be from me. Someone else to take the relay race.

    For details read there #237

Also please dont argue with them."

    Sad news.

Very unfortunate. It is mostly due to MyPal being a fork of Pale Moon and their authors' rigid license requirements.

    https://github.com/Feodor2/Mypal/issues/5

On the plus side he is still maintaining Centaury.

    https://github.com/Feodor2/Centaury
    https://github.com/Feodor2/Centaury/releases

Scratch that - it appears that he won't be updating Centaury anymore either.

    https://github.com/Feodor2/Centaury/issues/39

Hopefully we still have Serpent unless Basilisk authors decide to remove his right to fork as they have done with MyPal and Centaury.

    And Serpent (basilisk).
    https://rtfreesoft.blogspot.com/search/label/browser
    http://o.rthost.win/basilisk/

Both are compatible with MyPal and its extensions. Unlike MyPal or Palemoon Centaury and Serpent can also use some of the newer extensions (WEBEX) from Mozilla add-on repository.

I suspect Pale Moon will sink into irrelevance in the near future since they don't support XP and there are far too many and better alternatives for modern OSes.

All of Roytam's Mozilla builds will be affected including New Moon. Apparently Roytam failed to comply with Mozilla Public License 2.0 by not linking directly to source code for all versions, not just the most recent. Apparently he ignored the author's repeated requests and as a result, they are able to terminate his right to use any of their source code.

    https://github.com/Feodor2/Centaury/issues/40#issuecomment-904814345

Seems a bit anal retentive for an open-source project that is essentially non-profit hobby but those are the rules.

This is pretty serious because there is currently no one else actively developing XP browsers so with Roytam done eventually you won't be able to browse the web with XP.

Thankfully I no longer use XP as my main OS but for those of you who do your days of web browsing on XP are numbered.

Definitely worst-case scenario for the XP community.

When installing MYPAL it gives the option of setting up a portable version. All the above issues (constant uninstall and reinstall) can be avoided by using multiple portable versions to troubleshoot. Once you have a portable install you are happy with, and you want to set up another portable version for testing, INSTALL THE NEW PORTABLE VERSION, RUN IT ONCE TO FORCE-CREATE A PROFILE FOLDER, CLOSE THE PROGRAM, DELETE THE CONTENTS OF THE NEW PROFILE AND COPY THE CONTENTS OF THE OLDER (WORKING) PROFILE FOLDER. I have found 28.14.2 to be the most stable but it may break some sites.

Any chance of someone else taking over Mypal to keep it going and bypass those petty goofs who stopped it?
