Windows 7 extended updates are only for business PCs and have to be bought. Windows XP was free and could be used on home PCs. Just another example of changes in Microsoft.

Probably not. There's so much work involved for such a small group of people running an OS that doesn't even support the more recent Windows programs. It probably is a lot of work just for Microsoft developers who have access to all the source code. Therefore, for some Joe who wants to do this at home but doesn't have the source code, it would be super hard.
