Although Google and Mozilla have abandoned XP there are still individuals maintaining updated web browsers for this OS. I am posting this as a reference so you can check if there are updates and issues from the maintainers.
This thread will be locked to avoid clutter. If you want a browser added to this list DM me. I will test it on my XP laptop then update this thread. The laptop specs are AMD Turion X2 RM-72 2.1 GHz 3GB DDR2-667 PC2-5300 RAM ATI Radeon HD3200 shared memory.
I start with Chromium based browsers because they offer the best website compatibility compared to Mozilla XP browsers.
Supermium (Chromium 126)
Thorium (Chromium 122)
These two browsers offer the best compatibility because of their updated javascript engine. These browsers are made to run on modern Windows so they require more resources than you average XP machine can provide. Good CPU and lots of RAM are a must!
ArcticFoxie's 360Chrome (Chromium 86)
360Chrome doesn't need as much resources as Thorium/Supermium since it's based on Chrome 86.Google won't let you download extensions for outdated versions anymore so just use CRX4Chrome.
Update: CRX4Chrome has updated it's extensions to Manifest V3 so they will no longer work with ArcticFoxie's 360Chrome.
MyPal 68 (Firefox 83)
This is the most updated Mozilla browser for XP. The maintainer unfortunately lives in the Ukraine so updates are very sporadic due to issues with power among others.
Roytam's Mozilla browsers (Firefox 52 & 55)
Roytam's browsers are based on outdated javascript engines so there will be issues with some websites. There are other browsers listed on his repository (IceDove etc.) but I've not had the opportunity to test. I have used Serpent 55 and New Moon.
None of these maintainers are active on this forum so if you have a question about any of these browsers it is recommended that you create an account on GitHub/MSFN and direct your queries directly to the authors.
Eclipse Lun3r and Eclipse Hydra (Firefox 52)
These are forks of Roytam's Serpent/New Moon maintained by XPForums member @K4sum1 . I tested the 32 bit portable versions and most video sites I visited played smoothly. BBC live videos wouldn't play although they worked in MyPal 68.
If you want to install extensions in either K4sum1's or Roytam's browsers you will need the Classic Add-ons Archive extension.
Download the .XPI file and drag it to the main browser window (these screenshots are for MyPal 28).
It will add a button on the toolbar that when clicked will show the Legacy Add-ons Archive.
