Installation/activation of sound reproduction

Hello,
I operate an desktop-pc with winxp prof and win7 prof. I get sound only with the win7 system.
What's wrong? I did not find so far a sucessful advice how to handle this error with xp.
The device manager shows audio, video-, game-controller ok.But I get the information that something is wrong with the installation of the audio-controller for multimedia, the PCI-communication-.controller and the video-controller(VGA), yellow requestion marks.
What does this means? What I have to do?

No, I do not remember any efforts to install specifically any drivers in the area audio, video and game-controllers because the device manager tells me the individual device is operable,.
obiviously not.
A special audio-card is not installed. I use a K8M890M2MA board from Gigabyte.
Now I have to go to this site to look for information which driver I have to install--- right?
What's the difference between winxp and win7 in this context? Win7 works without any drivers I had installed specifically.

Click Start, Run and in the box enter:

msinfo32

Click OK, and when the System Summary info appears, click Edit, Select All (Ctrl-A), Copy (Ctrl-C) and then paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here in your next reply.

You can edit out any personal information.

I also want you to expand components, highlight sound device, and paste that info also.

I do not really understand what you mean with this and how to handle.
I also want you to expand components, highlight sound device, and paste that info also.
I suppose to ask for detail information of the device manager. How can I insert this?
A sceenshot with purrint does not work.

in the pix you can see components expanded, you would click on sound device and the right pane will refresh with the new info, you will copy/paste the same way you did with msinfo32

Sorry, my English is too bad to understand what you really ask with components expanded.
Now I downloaded Realtek Audio Driver and VIA Chipset Driver from a accomanied CD and sound works.
I have counted on what the installation winxp procedure told me and obviously that's not enough.
Up to now I have not installed the drivers Realtek LAN Drivers and VIA VGA Drivers because these facilities works for me. Your advice?
