Eclipse Mail, Lun3r, and Hydra, forks of UXP applications for Windows XP!

This started since I wanted Interlink Mail & News but portable. Then I figured since I'm already forking UXP, I might as well build UXP stuffs too. So that's what happened.


Eclipse Mail or eMail is my own fork of Interlink Mail & News, or mailnews. Some advantages over upstream are installer and true portable variants, compatible with IA-32 i686 class hardware, more optimizations, and the use of SQL instead of DBM for better compatibility with upstream profiles.

Some advantages over upstream are installer and true portable variants, more optimizations, features from Mypal like duplicate tab, experimental and very broken e10s support (it works better in Hydra), and the use of SQL instead of DBM for better compatibility with upstream profiles.

I don't guarantee consistent updates, or work on fixing features like e10s or WebExtensions. I am too busy with r3dfox and other projects to dive into that.

If you run into any bugs or issues, please report it on GitHub under the issues tab. I am more likely to get to it and remember to fix it if it's there. If you don't have a GitHub account, here is fine too though.

Sorry its been so long, I've been struggling with daily happenings and health so this is why you've seen me vanish over the last few months. I've stayed to my mental health forum for the most part and forgot about this forum ... but I'm glad I just found it.

I'm happily using Lun3r and overall it works quite well.

You mention that it is possible to get e10 working on it, but I've tried and don't know what else to do. Usually in Serpent we use the pref browser.tabs.remote.force-enable and set that to true. Normally on NM that pref is set to false and locked but I noticed that is not the case on lun3r, so I created the pref and tried to set the processes to 2 but still I'm on single process. Hopefully you can help me get this going on Lun3r. I realized its broken and experimental but I'd like to get this working on it because is prevents total crashing of the browser rather usually just crashes the tab if somethings goes wrong in multi-process. Only need 2 like it have it set in MyPal.

And, also, how do we enable DBM over SQL.

Anyways, I do hope this finds you well and I hope you've been well and thank you for creating these exciting browsers for XP users.

K ... so I tried everything I know to do.

I created a NEW boolean and set it to true.

browser.tabs.remote.force-enable

Created also:

user_pref("extensions.interposition.enabled", false); // set (true for no e10s) *-*
user_pref("extensions.interposition.prefetching", false); // set (true for no e10s) *-*

dom.ipc.processCount

I tried setting the process count to 2,3 or 4 but it defaults back to 0 upon restart.

What am I doing wrong?!?!? When the browser starts up it gives me the two windows quickly below and then returns to 1 window to show its trying but when I go to the task manager I still only have 1 instance of Lun3r running????

I hope you @K4sum1 will help me or if not, perhaps somebody else knows how to enable e10s in Lun3r browser.

As I say, been rough lately for old Sal here but I'm managing as best as possible and I'll likely stay here since I can log in as I can no longer get into msfn after the log in change to email - that email I used for registration over there is no longer active and honestly I don't even recall what email I even used. My memory is failing me as of late.

As I say, I do hope I can repair any damage between @K4sum1 and perhaps I'll log into eclipse one day again when I'm in better shape, but it would be sort of nice to know what I did because I haven't a clue.

That's fine. For me, I don't think I could just vanish without dying, so it's not really something I can understand. I depend on the internet. (Although for this forum without email notifications, I'm pretty inactive here. I'm most active on Discord.)

Ok. so that's very broken in Lun3r, like unusable broken. I could've made it clearer in the GitHub. I more so focused on the website, which says it's very broken, and gives a screenshot of it being very broken.

And, also, how do we enable DBM over SQL.

That's not really something you can just do. I do it at compile time, and the browser ships without DBM support at all. Maybe DBM and SQL support can be achieved with one build, with the ability to migrate to SQL, however I'm not sure how to do it.

I can't remember how I did it, but I know it's basically unusable in Lun3r. I do not recommend doing it at all currently.

I'm sorry that I wasn't here to see this earlier. If it was on any other forum, I would've gotten an email notification and would've replied much sooner. Unless it's bugged here you probably could've seen this by the last seen date on my profile. I don't have any particular reason to look here other than this post for a project that I don't have any time to work on and likely won't for a while. No email notifications also means my primary and pretty much only method of site notifications doesn't get to me. So it just means I forget the site exists until I'm desperate for an answer to niche a question and all other means are exhausted.
