Dell m6700 XP install problem

I'm trying to install windows xp on to a dell m6700.
I keep having problems trying to get xp installed. Using easy2boot I get through all the norma steps but once I get to step 2 the windows xp loading logo pops up, it loads for 2-3 seconds then the screen goes black ( screen backlight is working)
HDD light flashes but nothing seems to be actually happening that I can tell.
So far I've tried:
HDD ( 2 different ones)
Ssd ( 2 different ones)
Changing bios settings from raid, to achi and ide.
I tried disabling all SATA ports except one
Disabled all com ports or anything not useful during os install.
Current bios is a20
Any thoughts or ideas why I can't get xp installed/screen going black

I'm assuming easy2boot is a bootable flash drive which also has the XP ISO loaded on it?

Are you trying to setup XP onto an old IDE ATA drive, or other? (Sata, SSD)

(XP doesn't know what Sata or SSD drives are, so you would need additional drivers)

Step one of the install loads setup files into RAM, not on any drive. But after that, I thought it would display an error "no fixed disc" or something like that. (it's been a while).

Easy2boot has the sata drives, it simply gets through the first part of install, when the XP logo is loading to get to the initial install, screen goes black.
Ahci is the preferred method, but it doesn't matter if it's ide, ahci- hdd or ssd.
Screen goes black like PC is freezing during install right after xp logo

Just because the (HDD) drivers are on the flash drive, doesn't mean that the XP setup can access them. At the beginning of the XP setup, there's a screen that goes by quick allowing users to hit the F6 key to add 3rd party drivers. Problem is, XP only allows these to be added via 3.5 floppy.

If you don't have a 3.5 drive, then you might need to create a slipstream ISO that incorporates all the extra drivers you need.

One good thing, Dell is pretty good about keeping drivers for their old machines available. If you need to create a new ISO, you might as well add every driver you will need and get it all done in one swoop'd'poop.

I did what you're attempting a few years back with my Dell M6400 Precision.

the drivers are there. I've installed many times with this method, all the HDD and sdd's are detected, it's goes through the initial setup, restarts, XP logo- showing loading then black screen.

Nlite and injecting drivers into iso yields the same problem, wether it's fira Sr vers from easy2boot or injected drivers from Dell. It black screens right after the XP logo loading

OK... that's much clearer, and sound familiar too. I experienced the same behavior many years ago, but I don't recall changing or "fixing" anything. I think I just kept repeating the setup until it worked. (it's been a long time).

On second thought, it might have been a USB port problem in my case..... it's possible I plugged the flash drive into the faster ports I have (that are harder to access), and then got it to complete part 2 of the setup.

Weird, I'll try different ports. Not sure what else this could be, it's such a strange problem

"Nlite and injecting drivers into iso yields the same problem"

What does this mean? I thought you were using an nLite created ISO on a flash drive, all of which have been proven in the past? Or did you just recently create this ISO?

ok well, very strange problem but i figured it out, the slipstream on the cd was not working nor was easy to boot, or winsetup.
so got a new xp home edition image, slipstreamed drivers again from dell for the m6700, cd again failed. e2b failed, but winsetup worked with the slipstreamed drivers and installed successfully.... i dont understand but it worked
